ACETECK AC6000BT (Bluetooth compatible) Review

acetecac6000bt

I recently acquired a new chronograph, so I'd like to introduce it to you.

The product I'll be introducing today is the ACETECH AC6000BT chronograph.

My old Xcortech X3200 MK3 was getting worn out, and since this product is Bluetooth compatible, I decided to give it a try.

The Xcortech X3200 MK3 is introduced here.

As I explained with the X3200 Mk3, this is an essential item for customization. Anyone who customizes their bike must have it.

Even light customizations like just changing the hop-up packing or barrel will alter the muzzle velocity, so it's necessary if you're going to customize it at all (strict adherence to the law is required).

Also, although rare, some overseas products may exceed legal regulations, so those who prefer overseas products might want to keep one on hand.

Let's start by checking the box and its contents.

*This article aims to provide educational explanations from a mechanical engineering perspective regarding the safe hobby use of airsoft guns.
This does not promote acts of violence, the use of weapons, weapon modification, practical evaluation, or violation of laws and regulations.

Unboxing, contents

First, this is how it looked when I received it after purchasing it.

Acetecac6000bt box and accessories

I didn't realize it at the time, but I bought one that came with a folding tripod (I didn't notice until it arrived).

I'll open the box.

acetecac6000bt unboxing

Despite being an imported product, the packaging was very careful.

Next, I laid out the contents.

USB charging cable

It's quite luxurious.

Let's look at them one by one. The main unit runs on a lithium-ion battery, so it comes with a USB cable for charging.

AceTec AC6000BT included USB

This is the instruction manual.

Acetec AC6000BT Instruction Manual

Unlike Xcortech's version, this one is much easier to understand and more user-friendly.

This is a waterproof film.

acetecac6000bt waterproof film

A transparent film to protect the sensor was included. It's a thoughtful touch; I don't think it can withstand heavy rain, but it should be able to handle the level of rain and humidity suitable for airsoft games.

I will explain the installation process later.

Finally, a tripod.

acetecac6000bt tripod

I can't really evaluate it because I personally don't see where it would be useful, but it seems like it would do the bare minimum required work.

Appearance and external dimensions

Let's start by looking at it from the front.

acetecac6000bt front

Compared to the X3200 I introduced previously, it's about 10mm larger in both width and height.

Next is the top view.

acetecac6000bt top side

It has a cool manufacturer logo. It's about 20mm longer than the X3200 I introduced previously.

Next is the side.

acetecac6000bt side view

It has feet on the bottom to provide stability when placing the chronograph on it. However, it's questionable whether you would ever actually place a chronograph on a flat surface.

This is the back.

acetecac6000bt back

There is a USB charging port on the back.

What's interesting here is that while the X3200's measurement unit was cubic, this product is cylindrical. Considering the characteristics of the light used for measurement and the optical sensor, it seems that a cylindrical shape would allow for more efficient measurement.

Next is the bottom.

acetecac6000bt lower side

It has a screw hole for a tripod and a power box. It uses a Li-ion 18650 battery, and I don't think it will work with AA batteries of the same size.

While it's great that there are no battery costs, it might be inconvenient if you need to use it immediately when the battery runs out. In that respect, the X3200, which runs on two AA batteries, might be more convenient.

It's a battery.

acetecac6000bt battery

Remove the white sheet and charge it, and it will work.

Even if the included battery fails, you should be able to find a similar one on Amazon or elsewhere. So, it's okay if you lose it or the battery breaks.

Finally, here are the dimensions of the measuring section.

acetecac6000bt Measurement section dimensions

The entrance to the muzzle velocity measurement section is made of aluminum and is sturdy. It might dent if hit by a bullet, but it won't break. However, you should be careful as it's close to the LCD screen.

In Japan, I think measurements are almost always taken with the muzzle slightly inserted into the cylindrical part, so I don't think there's any need to worry about damage.

Now let's attach the accessories.

This is a waterproof sheet. Roll up the included film and insert it into the measuring section.

Installation of the acetecac6000bt waterproof sheet.

Next, open the included tripod.

Open the acetecac6000bt tripod.

Attach the main unit to this and it's complete.

acetecac6000bt completed

Next, I will introduce the features.

Features

First, press the power button to turn it on.

Acetecac6000bt initial velocity measurement screen

The controls are easy to use for gamers, consisting of a directional pad and a power/enter button.

Pressing the right button on the directional pad in this state will take you to the next screen.

acetecac6000bt measurement history

Pressing to the right again from here will bring up the menu screen.

acetecac6000bt menu

Now, move your cursor to the item you want to adjust.

First, let's set the weight of the bullet.

Ammo weight setting (AMMO setting)

To set the ammunition weight, select the item labeled "AMMO".

Acetecac6000bt ammunition weight settings

Pressing Enter will take you to the next screen.

Setting the weight of acetecac6000bt ammunition

By default, you can select 6mm diameters of 0.2g, 02.5g, 0.43g, 0.45g, and 0.88g (0.2g 6mm is set by default).

However, weights heavier than 0.43g are not very common, so we don't use them. But this product allows you to specify the weight and diameter of the bullet.

In other words, it's an excellent tool that can even measure 8mm ammunition, which is a problem for Marushin enthusiasts.

To give just one example, first, place the cursor on a suitable No.

Acetecac6000bt ammunition weight change

Once you've positioned the cursor, press the right button.

Changed the weight setting of the acetecac6000bt ammunition.

The cursor will move to the weight digit, so enter your desired weight. I've entered 0.28g.

Next, press the right button.

Determining the weight of acetecac6000bt ammunition.

The bullet diameter can also be changed. Therefore, it's a great product that can be used by 8mm users as well. I use 6mm, so I leave it as is.

I reassigned each number to the weight of the ammunition I was using, like this.

Acetecac6000bt: Setting the ammunition weight for personal use.

Once you've finished the settings, press the Enter button next to EXIT. This is the same for all other items.

Generally, for airsoft games, you'll use BBs weighing 0.28g or less, and heavier BBs are usually only used for special occasions like shooting competitions.

Furthermore, this product has an amazing feature: you can select the type of ammunition to use directly from the measurement screen.

First, here's the measurement screen.

Acetecac6000bt initial velocity measurement screen

Pressing the left button on this screen will make the cursor appear next to AMMO.

Acetecac6000bt ammunition weight change

In this state, you can change the type of ammunition by pressing the up or down buttons.

Acetecac6000bt ammunition change

This is a very useful feature.

Next, we will adjust the units of measurement.

Unit

The unit is called UNIT in English, so move the cursor to UNITO.

acetecac6000bt Unit Change Screen

Pressing Enter here will take you to the next screen.

acetecac6000bt various units of measurement

The unit system is set to MKS units (familiar units) by default, so you don't need to change anything.

The only thing you can adjust is the ROF cycle, which allows you to change from RPS (shots/second) to RPM (shots/minute).

The others simply change to feet, yards, and ponds.

Automatic power off setting

Next, you can configure the automatic power-off setting under the "APO" item.

acetecac6000bt APO change

Pressing Enter here will take you to the next screen.

acetecac6000bt APO time change

Here you can set the time until the automatic power-off is activated, from 1 to 99 minutes.

The item under APO allows you to choose whether to enable or disable automatic power off when powered via USB.

Next is adjusting the screen brightness.

Adjusting screen brightness

You can adjust the screen brightness using the BRITGHTNESS setting.

acetecac6000bt screen brightness adjustment

Hover your cursor over the desired item and press Enter to proceed to the next screen.

Acetecac6000bt screen brightness adjustment

You can adjust this to your liking. Also, the default setting is bright enough, so you probably don't need to change it.

Bluetooth function

Finally, let me introduce the Bluetooth function, which is a key feature of this product.

First, download and open the app from ACETECH. You will be asked if you want to link it to your device, so choose to link it.

acetecac6000bt app screen

Tapping on a product to link it will take you to the next screen.

acetecac6000bt app measurement screen

Here, you can tap each item to change its settings, just as you would on the device itself. For example, tap the menu icon (the one that looks like three lines).

acetecac6000bt menu screen

Tap on the ammunition settings here.

acetecac6000bt App Ammunition Settings Screen

As you can see, the app allows you to configure various settings, which is very convenient.

Measuring bullet velocity

Now we will actually begin taking measurements.

First, here's the measurement screen.

Pressing the right button in this state will take you to the next screen.

acetecac6000bt Measurement History Screen

This can be measured in either screen state.

The measurements were taken using the high-cycle custom VFC MK18 mod.1 AEG that I used in the X3200 review.

Acetecac6000bt initial velocity measurement

I took several measurements using semi-automatic mode.

acetecac6000bt semi-automatic measurement results

Let's try changing the screen.

acetecac6000bt Semi-Automatic Measurement Result History

It's convenient because it displays data in time series, along with the mean, upper limit, and lower limit.

Let's take a look at the app next.

acetecac6000bt Measurement Results App Display

Similar data will appear.

Furthermore, if you use the graphing function

Graph display of measurement results for acetecac6000bt.

The variation in cycle rate and initial velocity is visualized.

Next, let's measure the cycle in fully automatic mode.

acetecac6000bt cycle measurement

It seems that you can't accurately measure the rate of fire in full-auto mode unless you fire for a slightly longer period of time. Short bursts of fire will result in a lower-than-expected rate of fire.

Although the airsoft gun was designed to fire 25 rounds per second according to its specifications, when measured with only 3-4 shots, the rate of fire seems to drop to 15-6 rounds per second.

The results are displayed in the app.

Display the launch cycle of the acetecac6000bt in the app.

This is a graph.

acetecac6000bt launch cycle graph

It can be measured very conveniently like this.

I've only just started using it, so I haven't been able to fully utilize this data and graphs yet, but I'll try to use it gradually while thinking about how to apply it.

We've also included a high-cycle custom VFC MK18 mod.1 AEG as a measurement sample, so please take a look if you're interested.

Summary

Based on current data, it appears that the muzzle velocity is approximately 1 to 1.5 m/s higher than that of the Xcortech X3200 MK3.

Since I'm unsure which is more accurate, I want to manage it strictly, so I will use the data from this product as the correct one.

Furthermore, since the data can be viewed from various perspectives, it might be interesting to proceed with new performance evaluation items as a result of the customization.

It's particularly good for observing variations in initial velocity and rate of fire, so it might be useful for customizing your engine by focusing on those variations.

I've praised it so far, but it also has its flaws.

First of all, it's expensive. As expected for a high-performance device, it's pricey, and even at its cheapest, it costs around 10,000 yen.

Next, it's a bit large and heavy. It's not a major issue, but the Xcortech X3200 Mk3 is more compact.

Finally, since it uses a proprietary Li-ion battery, if the battery runs out and you need to use it immediately, you'll have to find a power source. The X3200 uses AA batteries, so you can buy some there and use it in a pinch.

In conclusion, if you plan to customize it thoroughly at home, this product is recommended. However, if you just need something to measure, the Xcortech X3200 Mk3 offers better value for money (the Xcortech can be found for around 5,000 yen).

I hope this will be helpful for anyone considering purchasing a chronograph.

ACETECH AC6000BT
It's expensive, but it's highly functional and recommended for those who like to customize things thoroughly.

ACETECH AC6000BT with tripod
I don't think you'll need a tripod, but I'll introduce it anyway.

Xcortech X3200 MK2 Chronograph
It's also available on Amazon for around 5300 yen, which is quite cheap. And yet, it has all the necessary functions. I think it offers the best value for money.

Xcortech MK3 Chronograph with tripod
Some models come with a tripod for an extra 500 yen. Personally, I don't see the need for a tripod, so I think the cheaper option is better.
